2022 Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 revealed

The 2021 commercial automobile show marked the debut of the Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35, a new version of the current D-Max that adds an aggressive new look and enhanced off-road ability. Arctic Trucks has worked its magic on the previous generation D-Max in the past, but this is the first time we’ve seen the AT35 conversion added to the new model, which was launched in the UK at the start of 2021.

Changes to the D-Max include the addition of a strengthened chassis, raised Bilstein suspension and those large-diameter 35-inch tyres on exclusive alloy wheels. broader wheelarches cover the tyres, while extended running boards help with access to the raised double-cab interior.

Inside, there are Arctic Trucks-branded headrests, floor mats and sill covers, while the rest of the cab is generously equipped, thanks to the fact that the AT35 is based on top-spec V-Cross trim.
Under the skin, the AT35 uses the same running gear as the rest of the D-Max range. that indicates it has a 162bhp 1.9-litre diesel and switchable four-wheel drive. A rear diff lock is available, so the only limiting aspect to this truck’s off-road ability will be its extra width.
Isuzu claims that the D-Max’s suite of safety features that helped it earn a five-star Euro NCAP rating remain intact, so lane assist, forward collision alerting and autonomous emergency braking are all included.

William Brown, Isuzu UK’s Managing Director, commented “It is a pleasure to work with Arctic Trucks on this prototype in development of the launch of our new AT35. following the success of the all-new D-Max launch in 2021, it feels very exciting to be launching another new automobile in 2022. We wanted to build upon the D-Max’s strengths to make a highly desirable and highly competent 4×4 pick-up and we are so pleased with the result. through using Arctic Trucks’ excellent knowledge alongside the D-Max’s excellent abilities the AT35 is genuinely an impressive truck.”
Prices will be announced closer to the AT35’s launch in 2022, but expect it to command a premium over a V-Cross model, which comes in at just under £40,000.

Isuzu D-Max utility Tipper
Also revealed at the CV show was a new chassis cab conversion for the D-Max. The utility Tipper Conversion has been carried out by conversion specialist TGS, which has taken an extended Cab D-Max and added an aluminium load bed that is raised by using a hydraulic jack on a double-action scissor lift.
This can be operated from a distance, thanks to the remote lead that indicates you don’t need to be standing ideal next to the tipper when it’s in operation. also fitted to the show truck is an air suspension system which boosts comfort while boosting the truck’s gross automobile weight to 3.5 tonnes, but still maintaining a one tonne payload.
