An Australian entrepreneur has revealed plans to build a Bugatti Veyron-rivalling supercar. Paul Halstead, boss of his own automotive design and engineering company known as HAL, declares the automobile will use two 7.0-litre Chevrolet V8s bolted together to form a 1200bhp 14.0-litre W16 unit.
Power will be provided to the rear wheels through a six speed sequential gearbox and a limited-slip differential, while a carbon fibre tub and body panels will keep weight to a minimum.

Halstead declares the design, shown in these official sketches, takes its inspiration from the McLaren F1. The driver sits in a central position with two seats either side, while a fighter jet-style moving canopy replaces traditional doors.
Halstead hopes to have the automobile ready for the 2016 Detroit Autorama hot rod event, where it will be revealed in the metal for the first time. He will decide whether a limited run production could be achieved if there is enough interest from investors and demand from customers.
